Ongoing support for those impacted by substance use.
Has someone you care about been drinking or using drugs to excess? Has the behaviour of your loved one begun to stress the cohesion of your family?
Maybe you’re recognizing the early warning signs of a downward spiral, or maybe things have already gone too far.
Either way, you know things need to change.
If this resonates with you, Family Coaching may be right for you.
Through Family Coaching, I can help you make sense of what’s going on. You will learn effective tools and strategies for working with your loved one through their recovery.
Let’s do this together.
The goal of Family Coaching is empower you to take better care of yourself and your family while working with your loved one through their recovery.
You will receive professional resources and support, learn how to encourage your loved one to seek treatment, and determine how you can best support them through recovery.

During our time together you will learn how to:
You can’t change the way your loved one behaves. But with a combination of empathy and the right resources, you’ll gain a better understanding of your loved one and how to encourage them to address their addiction.
The Family Coaching service described on this page provides ongoing, regular support to help you understand your loved one while navigating them through recovery. Family Consultations are typically one-time consultations where we will address a specific issue or conversation you are preparing to have with your loved one.
My team and I utilize the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) method when working with families.
The focus of CRAFT is to help positively change the way friends and family members interact with the people in their lives who are experiencing addiction, substance use, or mental health crisis.
CRAFT is about destigmatizing addiction while reinforcing your ability to communicate and to set boundaries. It is a step-by-step methodology for working towards a better understanding of your loved one and encouraging positive communication.
Research shows that 70% of families who receive Community Reinforcement and Family Training are able to get their loved ones into treatment within a year.
Through CRAFT, you will learn about:
In the early stages of Family Coaching you will describe your situation and answer questions to develop a clear picture of your family system.
Every family is unique. Approaching Family Coaching with a detailed assessment ensures that your family’s specific needs are addressed effectively.

Sometimes my work with a family develops into working as a Recovery Coach directly with your loved one who needs help.
Recovery Coaching is a collaborative approach to changing someone’s relationship with drugs or alcohol. A Recovery Coach (or ‘Sober Coach’) works with individuals towards getting healthy and to an overall better place.
